I have tried mounting the disk image files I have created using Disk utility, but when they mount, they always do so as External Physical Volumes, and not as a Disk that I insert into the drive. I have tried using both Toast Titanium, Terminal, and Disk Utility to mount the dmg, cdr, and iso, files I have created using Disk Utility, but none of them work.

I have also ried burning the files to a DVD, but the drive is unable to write the disk, as I keep getting an error: The disc can't be burned; it might be incompatible with this disc drive. Please try a different brand of disc, or try burning at a slower speed. Is there something else I can do. I am using a Macbook pro 13" , with El Capitan.
Posted on Apr 28, Page content loaded. Apr 28, Disk images normally mount as virtual disks, I don't see what you are doing wrong. Simply mounting the disk image should allow you to access the content inside the image.
From there you should be able to run the installer or drag files from it etc.
